Procession of the Species

3pm Outdoor Pavilion, Lopez Village

The Lopez Procession of the Species Celebration began was started in 2011 by the Lopez Island Conservation Corps (LICC). The Procession of the Species is a widespread event throughout the world to celebrate Earth Day and the great diversity of life on the planet. Participants choose a species to represent and create a costume or display, and over 150 Lopezians attended representing life from sea anemones to sea turtles and lily pads to owls. Please bring species-themed art and costumes, drums, shakers, horns, and other musical instruments, smiles, friends. Check-in begins at 3pm and the Procession through Lopez village begins at 3:15.
